HFC Mouske 92 Runner-up in Hurricane Summer Soccerfest!
HFC Mouske 92 started their tournament season with the Hurricane Summer Soccerfest held in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma over the weekend of August 9th & 10th at the Indian Springs Soccer Complex. Mouske 92 scored 10 goals and allowed only one to win second place in the U-12 girls division.
Mouske 92's first opponent was Arsenal 92. Mouske 92 came out strong and defeated Arsenal 3-0. In their next game, Mouske 92 faced another Hurricane team, HFC Klassen 92. Both teams played well and the game ended with a 1-0 victory for Mouske's squad. The next morning, Mouske 92 faced the Highlanders. Mouske's team shut-out their opponent 6-0, thus winning their bracket and advancing to the finals.
The championship game was scheduled for Sunday afternoon against Solar 92 from Dallas, Texas. The Solar squad proved to be quite a challenge and scored a goal on Mouske 92 before the first half ended. During halftime, a thunderstorm blew in and heavy rains delayed the game for about an hour. After the rain stopped, the referees and tournament director checked the fields and ruled them "unplayable"; therefore, Mouske 92 and Solar 92 were not able to finish the championship game. Because Solar 92 had the lead at halftime (1-0), they were awarded the first place medal and Mouske 92 placed second. Way to go Mouske 92!
