HFC Mouske 92 advances to semi-finals in the Thunder Friendship Cup
The Thunder Friendship Cup was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma April 11th, 12th, and 13th. The HFC Mouske 92 team defeated three teams in three days to win their bracket and advance to the semi-finals. During the tournament, the team scored 22 goals and allowed only 3.
HFC Mouske began tournament play Friday evening against Thunder, from Tulsa. HFC controlled the ball and shutout the Thunder squad 7-0. Their next opponent was Avellino Crush from Kansas. That game was played Saturday afternoon and HFC defeated Crush 4-1. Their third game was scheduled early Sunday morning against Olathe Spirit, another Kansas team. HFC worked well together as a team and defeated Spirit 9-0.
HFC Mouske 92 won their bracket and advanced to the semi-finals where they faced another Tulsa team, Tulsa Soccer Club. The two teams battled it out on the field with the game ending in a 2-2 tie. After two five minute overtimes and no additional goals scored, HFC and TSC had a shootout. Five players were chosen from each team to take one penalty kick each. The players chosen to kick, as well as our goalie, Beth, handled the pressure very well. The final result was a 5-4 victory for TSC. What an exciting game! Coach Mouske and the parents are very proud of the girls!
